There are too many to choose from. I am hoping to buy an unbacked 5yo and my experience friends are going to back him but I would like to understand what is going on and be involved and I love reading and want to know more about what to expect riding a young horse. I have brought older horses back into work but this will be my first youngster

Any recommendations?

I've used:

- Ray Hunt colt starting DVD
- Bill Dorrance 'True Horsemanship Through Feel'
- From Birth to Backing - Richard Maxwell (bet could probably get from the library)

Other things that I've thought about doing, but haven't done yet: spectate at the James Roberts Foundation Station, spectate at a Dave Stuart colt starting course.

I'm coming from a natural/holistic style approach.

thanks guys, where would I be without HH Forums! DVD sounds like a good idea and the breaking and training one. Amazon here I come!:D
