Good Book recommendations - horsey novel

I just wondered whether anyone has any good book recommendations. I am looking for a novel thats horse related but not about racing.

I loved the eventers trilogy by Carolin Akrill when I was a teenager. I think it was a hoof in the door, ticket to ride and another one.
If wanting something more adult maybe Fiona Walker and Well Groomed? Not as rude as Jilly Cooper.

Flambards is a series of 3 novels, read them when I was about 13/14. Set before the first world war but lovely to read. Can I ask how old you are?

Try Lyndon Stacey's novels... ones based around showjumping (Cut Throat) and one around eventing (Deadfall). Both are very entertaining thrillers and easy to read...

Try 'The Nightingale Sings' and 'To Hear A Nightingale', both by Charlotte Bingham; brilliant with racing only as a base, lots more going on than just that; I can re read them anytime!

I'm going through the Dick Francis and John Francome books at the mo and Jenny Pitman- not a big racing buff myself but good books to read. I would also reccomend The Eventers Triology- I've read thouse about 20 times -love them!

seconded. These are really good - particularly as the author doesn't stop mid-narrative to explain each horsey term!

Jilly Cooper - RIDERS It's an awesome novel, featuring Show jumping and... errr *whispers* sex

well worth a read!

Also really recommend the jenny pitman books - absolutely fantastic, as well as john francome and dick francis!
