Taking on my first youngster soon. 3yr old newly backed.

Will have great support from experienced friend and instructor but was wondering if there any books people would recommend for some reading?

Thanks

I love Kelly Marks Perfect Manners and Richard Maxwell. Loads of useful stuff still used regularly for reference x

I just got Jennie loriston Clarks book on breaking and training the young horse and it's really good. I especially like how she tells you what to try when ur horse doesn't step out the pages of a textbook!

"Training the young horse" by Anthony Crossley is good, thorough and old fashioned. It has a plan which works over 2 years. It's non gimmicky and good practical advice.
