Having just got a quote for over £1,000 for cow mats (well known ones which some people on here suggested) for two 15ft x 15ft stables - I'm a little horrified at the cost of mats!! I was looking for EVA ones up until now but they are just ridiculously priced it seems. So can anyone suggest decent but reasonable (non EVA) mats please?

I've had 5 of these in my stable for the last year - they're great, really hardwearing but softer than rubber. What's better, watch for a 15% off voucher (they go about all the time) or use some Rider Rewards towards them - I got 5 for £150 when I combined savings. Plus they interlock which is handy. The green isn't to every one's tastes but that's the cost of cheap ;)

I have just bought new off ebay six 6.6ft x 3.3ft 34mm EVA mats at £20 each which will be delivered next week so can let you know better once they are here http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/131044349491

I just bought 60 mats from the same vendor on ebay. They are very lightweight, but completely smooth on both sides. We bought the green ones. We planned to glue them to the concrete floor in our 40' x 16' donkey barn, and glue them edge to edge to each other. When I made inquiries to several mat installing companies about the best glue to use, we were met with attitudes of "oh, they won't last and the glue won't adhere." We don't want to deal with urine getting under the mats, that's why we want them permanently glued to the floor. So far, they are stacked in one of our storage barns as we continue searching for the best glue for the job. When my vet came out a couple of weeks ago and saw them stacked outside, he said "nice jump mats." Apparently, he was making reference to gymnasium mats. Oh dear!

Have you tried RPI at Dyce beside airport?
We just got mats from there, cash deal at £30 each.
Also rolls of rubber matting slightly thinner for outside stables which you can get any length.

I have equimats in my two big lad stables but I was looking for something for a smaller stall and didn't really want to spend near £450 on the equimats as the stall will only see very occasional use so am hoping these mats will be okay. The ones I have ordered are grey and I was not planning on glueing them. I like to be able to lift them and clean and disinfect under my mats so here's hoping they will do the trick.

These are just like the ones I bought, same price, but in grey, they are great mats, I do not stable Nell much but these seem tough and fit for purpose, and best of all the weigh absolutely nothing, I bought just four mats as that was all I could afford at the time, and I could lift all four with ease unlike my old heavy duty mats which I could barely manage even after I cut them in half
