Quick bit of background, bought babyhorse around 9 months ago from Caven in Ireland, he had just started jumping but hadnt done a lot. Took him out a few times over the summer but consistently had between eight and four faults. Partly because my jumping position was too far forward and was unbalancing him and partly because he has a tendancy to drop his back legs.
Gave him a holiday in October until 1st Feb, partly because of the weather and our school isn't the best and partly just to give him a break. Let him get hairy and just have a nice holiday over Xmas.
Brought him back into work and really worked hard to sort my riding out, watched a million YouTube videos and also videoed myself which I found helpful. Lots of grid work and flat work and also invested in some pro-jump boots.
Went out today to our local riding club (in a blizzard!) and he jumped bloody brilliant! Not only our first double clear but we also came third
It was only 65-70cm so you'll probably laugh but he was perfect and I really feel like all our hard work is paying off.
No photos unfortunately because the weather was so bad oh and kids sat in the lorry and watched out the window lol!
