For those with good do-ers who've maybe tried in at night and out during the day during the summer ( what spring/summer...), have you seen a marked difference if you change your regime to out at night and in during the day?

Yep. Did it last year and I shall this because.........she's

Out of the flies.
Doesn't get fat and I don't worry about it.
Out of the heat of the day.
She's ready and waiting to be ridden whenever I go up and I spend loads of time with her.
Has a Haynet and a snooze.
Is happier and content.

Works well for us.

I turn all my horses out at night and in during the day in summer I always have they are out of the flies during the worse times and sleep ,snack get worked, go to the spa whatever and then go out in the evening . In the morning by 8.30 am they waiting at the gate .

This regime works well in my opinion for those that don't want too much of Doctor Green! That and has been said, they're off the grass during the sunlight hours when it's at it' most dangerous for the lami/metabolic prone horses, less flys to bother them if they're in during the day and they get a chance to have a proper snooze and re-charge the batteries, ready to be exercised when i arrive in the early evening!
