Good doers - different field for day/night?

I can see my haffy's ribs at the mo and have been feeding her until now, fairly low calorie stuff plus some linseed but I feel she has needed it even though we do have plenty of grass, she would be far too skinny by now otherwise so maybe I am lucky that she is not 'too good' a doer for the breed! Now it is finally dry and fairly sunny how quickly do we think she'll start to gain? I only got her in October and she was quite roly poly then, so she obviously will need watching.. I have a welsh A as well who is at a pretty good weight now, so I guess I may have to half their two acres or even less at some point. Thankfully there are a few poached areas especially along the fence line (damn fence runner!) that may come in handy, I could quarter the field length ways perhaps.

Oh lordy that is something to behold! Well done for getting rid of it! I think mine has lost about 50kg and it seems like a lot!

I think she looks real skinny here, my little skinny Minnie! My urge is to feed her and wrap her up warm but trying to look to the future spring worries!

Mandwhy, I don't think you will have much to worry about this Summer! A careful eye and a decent exercise regime will get some muscle on her. Is she not being worked?

Yes I agree she looks skinny although that is a 'skinny' picture to be fair, I am feeding her quite a bit more than at christmas when she was looking just right, as she started to drop weight between January and now, she is rugged quite a lot now and I have started to add the linseed again for a bit extra but I'm not sure how long to carry on with that although it helps with her itchiness!

She was not ridden for long periods over winter and now building up with hacks once or twice a week only walk and trot (she is ploddy at the best of times!), we are not too confident without company just yet as we have a lot of traffic and hacking can be a bit stressful here at first, when we are we will be able to do much more and build up some muscle :-)
