Good enough to show ?

I haven't shown her yet, I only bought her in july and I am hoping she will mature some what by next summer. I don't really know much about showing coloured. The last pony I showed was my reg section B, who won without any effort. I am at a loss with what to do in terms of showing a coloured. Hogged, plaited, trimmed, natural there's soooo many different way to turn them out. There's not really lots i can do with her until she 3 (apart from daily handleing etc) so I though maybe I could show her and get her used to different environments. I thought I'd ask people opinion on what her chances of showing successfully are, as i have no experience of showing coloureds.

Go and have a shot! At local level anyone with a well turned out pony will do reasonablely well.

She has the potential to be a really pretty girl so get her trimmed up (she's not cobby enough to be shown 'natural' so all the excess fluff needs to come off) and take her out and about to see the world.

Pretty head, right build (with a bit of weight on and growing-up to do) for hunter youngstock, or something like that, plaited and trimmed etc. I personally think she'll be a swan.... nice! :)

you need to stand her up fully side on to get a good photo, she looks an elegant pretty sort that could grow into quality with scope, i would certainly show her, but please don't show her too fat.
i bought a yearling for 200 pounds many years ago and people were scathing like, has he come off the gypsies?, they soon shut up when he started to win and as a young horse 5 years offers to buy him, and as a three year old someone who could afford to any thing wanted him, so you just never know, that's part of the fun for me

I think she would scrub up quite nicely. Feathers off, pull her main and plat her and I bet it would be a completely different picture. Just go out and have some fun with her. Showing is a really good education for youngsters and will stand you in good stead.

Thanks guys. I am hoping she'll turn into a swan. I think I will have a go at showing(local) and see how she goes. It'll be good experience for her, and fingers crossed she might win something, who knows. I'm going to keep her fluffy till march, then attempt to trim her out and see what happens. Hopefully she will have filled out abit and look more proportional, don't you just love that awkward stage. I'm feeling quite excited at the prospect of showing, lol even if she comes in last place.

No I don't think it is. Looks a sweet type and if she fills out etc. and you put hard work in you might do okay at local shows.
Hope you have fun with her anyway :)
