Right since August I've been through 3 pairs of wellies!!! All ended in holes and me with very wet/cold feet!! Tonight my feet got soaked again, yip more holes this time in a pair of industrial wellies my bro in law got for me from his work!! I have no idea what I'm doing to them but they all end in holes. I'm now on the lookout for good everyday boots to wear around the yard, must be able to handle the mud and be waterproof (have a stream in the field), keep my feet warm, not too bothered about being able to ride in them but that would be a bonus. Any suggestions or reccommendations would be fab.

Thanks Karen

I had same problem as you with wellies, even the expensive ones weren't lasting long. Have started wearing muck boots and have found them much more durable, I have the Woof ones and they are wearing well. They are also warm and comfortable, I don't ride in them though, I prefer to change into long boots. I soak hay each morning and had got fed up with getting wet socks in my wellies each time I changed the water, hope this helps.

I absolutely love my new pair of Muck Boot Co. Tays. They are incredibly warm, waterproof and really light, which is surprising as they have steel toes. I work in them and, because my stirrups are big enough, I hack in them too.

I've ditched Hunters after three duff pairs in less than three years.

Mudruckers. Everyone at the yard has them and during 15cm of snow, they were claiming there feet were sweating. Ive heard nothing but good, and when the winter comes I'll likely be buying myself some! :)

I've got 2 pairs of Woofwear long boots. They're great: nice and warm with their fleecey lining, but watch the bit between where the welly stops and the fabric boot starts - mine have split there and also on the soles in less than a year. Was going to go for a pair of Muck Boots until OH bought me a replacement WW pair for Christmas

Still wearing the old torn pair until the mud goes but got a pair of Sealskinz socks to go with them. Can now tramp through all sorts of liquidy muck and feet stay dry as ghandi's flip flop - good times!

I got a pair of Toggi Canyon boots for crimbo, bit expensive, but I'm hoping they will last.

I LOVE them!!! They are so comfy and warm, plus I like the fact they are long as can stick them on with whatever jeans, walk the dogs and don't get my jeans muddy and ride and be comfy. Also hoping they'll clean up and not smell for TCing/PtoPing etc. :)

Someone once made me rinse my boots every night after i was done - Stopped the ammonia and nasties sinking into the rubber overnight they said.

I recon it made my wellies last much longer. Were not talking a soapy scrub - just a quick brush with a hose.

Dublin River boots- they look good, are really comfy, warm and have had them 2 years I wear them everyday and sometimes ride in them and they are still alive and working :)
