Took B to an open day in a local village today and he was a superstar.

Got asked three times if he was a police dog :p he was approached for lots of strokes and snurfles and cuddles (he was awesome with three little kids, one of whom unwittingly grabbed his sore ear - if I had done that he would have squealed and hit the deck but he just winced and sat there)

And he didn't bat an eyelid at any other dogs (he did sing a little bit at the start but we got over that!) in fact we passed an Irish R&W setter who was straining to get to him and he barely even glanced at it.

Very proud of him today. At one stage I thought he would never be crowd-safe so while it might not seem like a big deal to many, it is a huge deal to me, I finally have a good ambassador again :D

Some piccies for the laydeez!

Its nice to have a face to face conversation without having to kneel down!! He must be massive!!!

Ah, just the usual seasonal things, pollen/grass, heat, midges biting them, he has mahoosive ears and they get very yeasty and sweaty (which also attracts the flies) and then he starts scratching.
Might have been before you joined but we used to have an awful time with them, came home from holiday once and one looked as if it was half hanging off :( :( the Epi Otic really sorts him out and the new vets are much better at dealing with it.
If it's not one thing......

I'm surprised he can support himself on his crippled back legs :p :D

He is such a handsome boy. You really have made me see GSDs in a different light, to the point were I actually quite fancied pinching one from the kennels! :D

Poor fella, I knew his allergies got to him but didn't realise his ears got it particularly badly:(

I'd rather it stayed in his ears. Hard to believe at Christmas time, he had no hair at all on his belly/chest/throat/inner arms/inner thighs and the skin was all hard and blackened. He does bounce back from these things so quickly and with never a grumble (maybe a few squeals :p) and I hope we are finally on top of it. Still want one, Hen? :p But glad to have converted you :D

He's a beautiful soul.

Well done Bodo and CC. Its such a thrill when they are good ambassadors isn't it, I would honestly rather have praise and admiration for my dogs at a gathering of the general public than a show award,:)

Well done to you both, I agree with MM that I love it when my dogs get praised :):):):) (of course being skinny dogs they get praised all the time....:p:D)

Its the best feeling ever when someone says "I used to be scared of GSDs but yours are gorgeous". I'm sure CC will agree.
Gazey, my son did say, "those greyhounds are quite cool aren't they", high praise indeed.:D

Thanks again guys! People used to say that all the time with our last two females and Bella is a sweetie, but there was a time I never thought people would say it about B :D even a big burly biker guy in armoured leathers told him he was 'beautiful' :D

Cayla I am sure you remember the first PM I sent you, where I was worried HE would get hurt because he was pulling so strongly against me, whereas I wasn't a bit worried that I had pulled a muscle in MY back, trying to hold him :p

He's due to disgrace himself again any day now :o :p

Gorgeous piccies :D :D

He is such a handsome boy :) Well done B ....and yes he is that big standing on his hinds.....Hes my dancing partner don't you know :p I do think I am a tad smaller than CC :o :o .

Tikka is badly missing her luney .

Next week I shall try and organise something, I can possibly pass on the boys to a wandering stranger somewhere ;)

Aw, we'd like that Col , he misses his Best Gal too :D even if she does try to beat him up :p

Soon, Pups, sooon, and I see we have one or two possible more Mafia inductees up there :p

Well I should think it'll be a couple of years at least, but certainly on the 'I want' list! :D There was just no way I could have one immediately after Puppy though, and my little Popster keeps me entertained! :) xx

Well done to Bodo!!:cool::D:D:D

You deserved to be chuffed - especially with the little kid and the poorly ear situation - mind you they seem to know when its a kid who didn't mean it don't they?

He looks very handsome (and clean!!) in the piccies!!:D:D:D

I'm sure I just heard the distant thump of Beezle falling over in darkest Italy............:rolleyes::D:D:D
