I can't decide if this is a good idea or a really bad idea so pointers would be extremely handy!
Basically my horse has been extremely attached to a little shetland we've had on the yard for awhile. They were the best of buddies but not at all clingy so I could still ride without one screaming for the other. I was extremely tempted to even put an offer in to buy the shetland for awhile because they were so close. If I'd had an ounce of spare cash on me at the time I probably would have!
Sadly, the shetland has been returned home to her breeder on a yard a short hack away from ours. My horse has gone into a bit of a depression and is very low and seems to be looking for the shetland
I'm seriously considering hacking out to the farm where the shetland is just so they can meet each other again and my own horse will fathom out that her friend isn't lost in the wilderness or dead, only living someplace else. But another part of me is thinking 'next thing you know there'll be a big hole in the electric tape and your horse will be a mile away trying to climb into the shetland's paddock.'
Would it help if I took my horse to visit her friend? She does seem very downcast and anxious.
