Good instructors in South West

Hello,

I am looking to start lessons on my ex-racehorse to hopefully compete a little eventing and dressage etc...

I live in the Dorset/Somerset area, more specifically Sherborne/Frome/Yeovil area.
Would anyone be able to recommend a good instructor in this area that isn't too expensive?? Also are there any good X-country schooling venues around here? I've heard Stockland Lovell is good.

SL is good, you are a bit far out of my way for instructor suggestions though.

i second stockland lovel and pontispool is also good. i prefer SL though. your abit out my way too to suggest instructors im down north somerset way.

Rowan Chambers at Traphouse Stables in West Stour is good; Liz Guy at Half Moon Stud (for dressage). Robert Pickles is in the area somewhere - not sure where he is based now but he is good - try Pippin Equestrian in Gillingham as he used to work there. Probably loads of others who will be good for you that others can recommend - there are plenty of good people in that area!

Big thumbs up for Rowan as well-she really improved my sister's riding and Squizz's way of going-they won pretty much all the showing classes (WH) after a few lessons!

For XC schooling, Downlands EC at Tytherington is good for babies, and Rosamund Green at Shepton Mallet for once he gets a bit more grown up - both much closer than SL and Pontispool.

and yeah those XC places at Tytherington and Shepton are very close
