Help! Can anyone please recommend a good livery yard in Renfrewshire please. Ideally with outdoor school and good, safe hacking. Turnout essential. Ideally Assisted DIY but would consider Full depending on price.
I am currently at a yard in East Ayrshire, which depending on where you live in Renfrewshire, is near to East Renfrewshire so may interest you. It is a purpose built yard and everyone is really nice and get on well together. Their website is www.thornhillstables.co.uk
I will have two horse stables and two pony stables ready in a couple if weeks brand new, toilet and catering facilities secure tack room, outdoor school and great hacking we are Lochwinnoch. If you are looking for a small private yard. phone me 01505 842393
Assisted Livery no DIY
Lawmarnock Farm in Kilbarchan is excellent. I was there for 10 years and only left as relocated with work. Only down side is that they generally have a decent waiting list.
Its in Kilmacolm, 20 minutes from ingliston. All year round turnout with small herds so they dont get bullied or annoyed, my youngster loves to play! The yard is split into 4 little sections of 4 boxes - each 4 stables have their own tack room, big 12x12 boxes with rubber matting and drinkers.
The most lovely YO's who really care about the horses! On site feed shop (discounted if you are a livery!). Big outdoor arena with lovely rubber surface that we were able to ride on even in the snow it didnt freeze and the hacking is superb. Free trailer parking.
The YO caters for DIY, assisted DIY and Full livery. I will add link to website
I must agree with Kez1001, Gryffside Livery in Kilmacolm is fab.My wee horse has come on loads since moving there.Yard owners Karen and Willie go that extra mile for you and because they are on site they will bring all the horses in if weather turns bad, which is a huge relief when you are stuck at work.
You can also book the school for a lesson with your instructor at no extra cost.
As it is an adult only yard it is a great quiet getaway to unwind and just enjoy your horse.
Hi I'm moving to Gryffeside on Friday and cannot wait! moving from a very very busy yard, lots of kids and young adults! so am looking forward to the calm and quiet! bit nervous though as been at current yard for over 7 years hope it all goes well!
