Well, Molly went off to a new home today. She has gone to get her ridden career re-started so that she can go on to be an eventer or dressage horse, or even jumper, whichever she prefers with Julia Longarini and Sam Dempsey and I couldn't be happier despite the amount of tears I have shed. It hasn't helped that the family dog died suddenly this week as well...RIP Cody xxx

She has been turned away since November with just basic fussing in the field. I put the lunge cavesson on her and we took her out to the better field. She lunged perfectly straight away off my voice, showed off her movements beautifully and I could hear Sam and Julia say, "Wow" when she started trotting which gave me the biggest inside smile. She loaded like a baby pro and despite me finding it much harder than I expected to let her go, I am so excited for her future.

Everything has changed and changed again so much already this year that it's just a relief that her future is secured!

Bye bye Mollie Moo

Hugs to you, sounds like you've had a difficult week and had to make some difficult decisions, but it sounds like Molly has a fantastic future ahead of her. Do you think her new owners will keep in touch?

Rest in peace Cody, it's so sad when they go suddenly (it's happened to me twice), thinking of you.

Tash xx

Thank you. Yeah, we have lots of mutual friends and I can go and see her anytime I want to which is lovely to know.

Cody was 14 bless her, but still very active, running around the yard at my sisters and no signs of age other than a little stiffness. She had a lump come up on her shoulder a few weeks ago. Vet said it wasn't good but nothing would happen for at least a few months and then this week, my mum and dad got home after taking my sister to the hospital after a minor crash and she was gone, so she must have drifted off in her sleep. She was my dog, but I couldn't take her with me when I had to move so because she was already at my mum and dads, she became their dog. She was perfect in every way. Put up with my nieces, put up with my puppies and having all four of my dogs take over her house when we went up north. Never put a foot wrong and always had a cuddle and chatter for you.

What a horrible week for you but it's good you feel positive about Molly's future and can keep in touch. Losing a dog is so hard but Cody looked like a well cared for and contented dog in the photo, what more could a dog ask for? x

That's great that you can keep in touch with Molly. That's similar to how two of my dogs went, they both went suddenly downhill (both older dogs with minor health problems) on the day they died, and went suddenly at home. Not very nice for those who witnessed it (in my arms both times) but the best way for them to go, and the other dogs were able to say goodbye in their own way. Again, rest in peace beautiful Cody.

Ah tough week, but sounds like Cody went the way we all say we would like too, one of my old boys is not good this weekend have painkillers but if no better tomorrow then tomorrow will be his day.

Great that you can keep in touch with molly-lovely looking mare.

I'm so sorry to hear that. :(

Yes, we take a lot of comfort in knowing that she just drifted off. My poor dad. He gave her a kiss goodbye that morning which he has never ever done before. He said he had no idea why he did it. He's taken it so hard. It's been a tough month and this has been the straw that has broken the camels back with him...he's a bit lost bless him.

I hope your old boy gets more comfortable :(

Aw GG so sorry to see your lovely dog has died but like others say, sounds like she went peacefully and was clearly very very loved so hope you can take comfort from that.

Your poor Dad - bless him. Give him lots of hugs.

Molly is beautiful and that must have been very hard too, but lovely that you can keep in touch and I hope all works out beautifully . xx
