Bad news first....
For months I had been looking forward to our RS's adult camp, but it got cancelled because I was the only person that signed up.
As I'd paid ahead I used my 'credit' to get 3 days of private lessons in a row.

Good news - we had heavy rain on Friday / Saturday so I would have been a very soggy camper if the camp had gone ahead.
I had three wonderful private lessons - 2 flat and one jump. I usually only ride once a week and it was amazing how much I could improve by riding 3 days in a row - I could really build on what I'd learnt.
Finished the weekend with a big grin on my face and now really hoping that everything I've learnt and practiced doesn't slip through my fingers in the next week.
Still a shame that the camp didn't go ahead - I'm sure it would have been a great laugh but every cloud....

It's a shame about the initial disapointment of the camp being cancelled but it sounds as if it worked out fabulously in the end! :)

More good news... Just got back from my monthly schoolmaster lesson and it went really well.
This is the bit where I sound like a numpty...
I was kicking myself after my last schoolmaster lesson because I was having trouble getting and maintaining trot (see - I sound like a numpty)
There is a chasm of difference between getting a RS horse to trot and getting a sensitive dressage horse to trot - I kept blocking with my back and bum so either we didn't get trot when asked or would drop back to walk very quickly.
So today I asked to work on my half halts and transitions and it all went really well - I can't believe how happy I was to trot a whole circuit of the lunge without dropping into walk.
I have now mostly managed to isolate my lower leg from my thigh and bum - so I can nudge without gripping and tensing.
Little things - but it makes a big difference to me.
