Good news for Clare Balding :)

I was listening to the programme in the car, and it really made me smile to hear that. She always comes across as a very nice, genuine person - even when she's putting her foot in it! I like her a lot.

Brilliant news. Did any of you see her slip up at Olympia last month when she let slip about the SPOTY winner? Hmmmm it was even more interesting being as the SPOTY was, I believe (and prepared to be corrected) was voted for live that night........

Great news for her:D - I think she is one of the better commentators around as she does actually know one end of a horse from another and what they are trying to achieve which ever discipline it is.:)

You always see here wandering round Burghley and she is always happy to talk to people like me who say hello and then realise you don't actually 'know' her......:eek::o:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Ha! I did that to Hugo Spear once, I was convinced he went to my school (and told him such several times) when I realised that he was in fact from the Full Monty  :D

This is what she had to say about the horses who died during the 2000 Grand National meeting.

"It's just so draining to be saying on air: "Four horses have been killed", as I had to on Thursday".

"I just thought: "Oh, God, why do I have to keep saying this." I just got the impression on Thursday and Friday that had a jockey been killed, there wouldn't have been the headlines that there were for five horses being killed".

Still like her?

the relief of hearing that news is immense and you an carry on living, thats when i decided to treat myself to a horse, now have a willful 5yr old 16.3 as well the oncologists said they would cure me and they did cancer isn't always a licence to dig your hole, but my sister has MSand in my opinion much worse than the hodgekins lympyoma i had.Well done Claire.

Brilliant news as she is one lady presenter of racing and horse sports that I like a lot. The other being Alice Plunkett. Both are very knowledgeable and actually 'interested' in racing. Most of the other females presenters are 'just' faces behind a lens!
Yes she may make gaffs from time to time. But isn't that just being human? Far better this than some of the robotic attitudes and annoying other female 'faces' in equestrian sports.

Good news! I like Clare and her TV presenting skills - she knows her stuff.

S/he who never made a mistake, never made anything....!

What great news for her, her family and friends. I hope that one day this dreadful disease is eradicated once and for all. Hearing news like this gives hope to others who are suffering with it, like one of my dear friends.

Yes i noticed that. The winner wasn't named but it was certainly let slip early that the winner was a jockey, and there was only one jockey nominated i beleive.

Great news for her though, glad she is ok as she is a brill presenter.
