good novices??

sorry, but what I have just read sounds very rude to me.

“and baydale if you had read any of the other pages, you would have realised that this winter all im doing is working on my dressage and showjumping and that ive sed i wont move up a level untill they are better. please get your facts right.”

well i find you ignorant and lacking details.
just because with this horse our sj and dressage aint amazing
doesnt mean im not at novice standard.
you know nuthing about me or my horse, hes very tricky to ride, hes very sencitive.
ive done plenty of novice standard eventing either unaff/pc/riding club or BD novice dressage--harder than BE novice, on other horses/past ponies very successfully.

KatB and Baydale are 2 of the most experienced eventers on here, and for you to discredit them so bluntly is what i find rude. Yes you may find certain xc courses too easy, but you must remember that other people won't. For instance, I try to pick the more difficult novices even though I have only moved up, as I tend to ride better xc then, and if there was a easy track I tend to sit there and "see what happens" which usually results in a silly mistake - thats why I moved up from PN. I know you say that you are working on your weaker points, which is great

this shows that you keen to improve and better yourself

I would then keep doing novices and look at the xc as "formality" and try to challenge yourself with the sj and dressage, maybe even making yourself do an entire test in sitting trot?

I think *some* people here may have over-reacted a little, and you have apologised, but since so many of the events last year where cancelled/balloted it may be difficult to get a run anywhere

right - have looked at all the posts in this thread and am now going to reply.

You say berrington and pontispool were easy - why did you get time pens (i apologise if there were for going to fast!)

I was like you this season looking for harder novices and found plenty. think logicaly and you can find my horses BE results!

As for stepping up to int - its not something to take lightly - its a massive step up hence why i have spent another year back at novice - we had a bad fall at Gatcombe Ints last year and TBH i stepped up to int far too soon and would have now hopefully be celebrating 3/4 ints clears now if pony was still sound!

Take thinks slowly there is no rush, i wish someone had told me that when i started!!

hehe lol im not stepping up to int, i said i would like too but i cant!!! we're no where near ready,i know its a big step up,,which is why ill only do it at end of next year if i get good results at novice!!!! lol just want to make that clear,
besides mum would never let me step up if i wasnt ready!

pontispool--he wasnt going well at all,,,had an off day,,just wasnt jumping well and going forwards, had to carry him round!
and berrington, that was my 2nd novice i think, so just wasnt used to the speed. i was used to pony club open speed which is 500mpm not 520mpm.

logically,,,i cant do that...me is confused...do i know you....**racks brain...** bahah lol
thanx for the advice!
