Good old Mike Tucker

I like his commentary and Scotties, probably becuase I know that they have been there, done that, and also know many of the riders involved - but commentaters do seem to have the kiss of death about them, as in 'A is going well' - cue A falling off in a big heap!

Quite agree plus they have a good sense of humour and seem to be friends which makes a great difference plus I used to exercise with him years ago and he'd crack you up, he's very funny. I'd rather have Mike any day than the stupid H & C lot, they really wind me up and always sound so pompous.

I really like Mike Tucker, I know he makes mistakes but it comes across as more of a dotty uncle rather than irritating. At the end of the day I see him as more of a compare than the technical expert / analyser and the experts he's pared with often make more mistakes than him, and they're paid to get it right.

At least MT has some life about him not like some of these dull experts he's paired with.

Has anyone else noticed how he pronounces “performance” as “preformance” that really irritates me…and Lorna Clark cracked me up years ago as she went into instructor mode on her commentary (imagine a combination fence, horse scrabbles over first part and needed to make up some distance and get impulsion back for the second part so rider pushes horse forward with her upper body and arms flapping like a chicken) Lorna says quite sharply “SIT AND KICK DON’T FLAP” - she was right they didn’t make the distance up and refused.:D

I can remember watching him & his missus competing at Badminton when I was a kid :o I must be proper old!

I do like his rather excitable commentary, reminds me a little of an equestrian Murray Walker. Him & Scotty are a great team and I thoroughly enjoyed the WEG xc coverage :) Good old BBC!

Equestrian commentary just wouldnt be the same without Mike Tucker. He is awesome! Cannot stand the people who commentate on H&C - now they really dont know what they are talking about!

I love Mike Tucker and Ian Stark. Its the sky lot - load of bimbo looking women walking around SJ courses in stilletos (sp) and dresses with the most innane commentary that wind me up

LHS, I couldn't agree more. Mike Tucker's commentry completes horse sport, especially Eventing; it wouldn't be the same without him!

I watched the FEI Pony Europeans on H&C last night - that idiot (don't know who it was) kept saying "oh and that "horse" was superb through there...." etc etc! Err, it's a PONY not a horse, hence the name of the competition you are commentating on lol! Oik... he really annoyed me!!

Totally agree! Yes, Mike Tucker's mistakes do annoy me, but the H&C idiot last night...well, I nearly turned it off...
