friend has been offered a gelding for sale for £3500 as she is a family friend of the sellers. they say if she dosent want him they will put him in horse and hound for £5500

he is 9yrs old, done hunting, pony club, xc, showjumping but can be a bit of a bugger refusing sometimes at sj fences when he dosent want to jump. he can be grumpy on the ground, wont hack out on his own and can sometimes get a bit bolshey leading out to the field.

so is this a good price? just wanted your views
thanks

I agree hes not got many good points, i doubt they will get that much if hes like that, I suppose a horse is worth as much as someone will pay for it though.

no, it doesnt seem he's exactly a good un. Where's the fun in hunting something which is grumpy, bolshy and refuses? You can't hack out alone, can't do much jumping, it probably has tantrums schooling....what DOES it do?

Ditto whats already been said. What height/age is he?
Sorry but personally I wouldn't pay £5500 for what you describe, don't think I'd pay £3500 but maybe thats the going rate in your area or it has something else going for it that they think makes it worth that.

Ditto the above. If he is as bad as you have descibed I wouldn't pay over £2000! And he'd have to have some good points for me to pay that. I just wouldn't want a horse I couldn't trust!

What exactly has he done and won to warrant a £5500 price tag?
