Good riding in Devon and Cornwall

I am planning to visit Devon and Cornwall next summer for an extended holiday, can anyone recommend particularly beautiful places to ride? Thx

Loads of places to stay if you want to bring your horse too - I know of one in Chagford, which would give you great riding and a nice small town to stay in.

Have you thought about Woodbury Common? Its gorgeous!! Situated in East Devon, nearest towns are Exmouth, Budleigh Salterton and Colaton Raleigh. You can see where Sir Walter Raleigh's house was/is! You can look across to the sea as you ride. Bring your swimming cossie and go for a dip too. The best-kept secret in Devon. Sorry don't know any livery yards if you wanna bring your own.

Or Exmoor (some is in Devon) is superb.

just to add to mijods post... if you do consider woodbury common which is very near to Exmouth and you are bringing your own you can ride on Exmouth beach too!
you may have to jump a few sunbathers at busy times!!

Oooh, I didn't know you could ride on Exmouth beach. Is that all year round? Or just the out of season period, like which applies to dogs?
