Hello

I'm looking for a riding school for my children (9 and 7, beginners). Ideally I'd like them to learn some stable management and hack out a bit as well as having lessons in the school.

Any recommendations very welcome. Lee Valley has been mentioned to me- does anyone have a view?

Thank you.

Hi there, I would recommend Trent Park Equestrian Centre. It is a BHS accredited riding school, with ponies of all sizes and abilities and they run pony days which include riding and stable management as well as lessons throughout the week and at weekends. The website is

Good luck!

TBH, Trent Park is very well run with lots of horses and instructors, but I find it a bit of a sausage-factory, if you know what I mean.....

Trent park was by far the best yard when I was doing the rounds several years ago. Not cheap, but has a good selection of horses for a riding school. Possibly for beginners, you could try London equestrian centre in mill hill. Or south medburn near elstree (beware of the scary woman in charge though!)
