A friend of mine, well someone at work has decided to get back into riding again, she used to ride when she was in her teens and said she did a bit of jumping on her friends horse many years ago.

I don't actually have any idea of her riding capabilities or horse experience so the above is just what I've been told, anyway she's coming over to our yard and I'll see where she's at plus it will also give her chance to learn about all the other things....not just riding!

But she needs a good riding establishment and RI in her area where she can go weekly of even twice week and wondered if you had any good recommendations? She's currently paying £24.00 for 30 mins for a private lesson and feels that she'd benefit more from an hours lesson but commented on how expensive it is, which really I suppose that is the going rate.

So just putting some feelers out for her, feel free to PM me if you wish, I'll then pass on the info to her.

Because I only work in this area, I'm not familiar with all the local yards/riding schools.

Thank you

Thank you that is very helpful, I shall email her now and forward that link on.

I've heard of it but not had any personal dealings with them.

Just realised its in Otley though, maybe a bit too far for her to travel, think she wanted somewhere a bit closer to Pontefract as that is where she lives.

I used to wok there, and im now thinking of going for some lessons with there seniour instructor Fiona Everall. They have a variety of horses suited to all types of riders, and also have a a very good set up!!

i guess manor grange stud would maybe be the nearest option , think they are still doing lessons

middleton park is in leeds & fairly easy to get to (not far from white rose centre)

Do they not still have a little riding school next door? I am sure last time I was doing dressage there there were a group of riders bumping around in the arena next door?

Might of just been the liveries, is place still for sale?

If the website is up to date then it should say on there but I suppose they will still do private lessons but to be honest I think they will be more than where she is at the moment, price is not a issue really but if she can get an hour with a good RI for similar price than she'd benefit more from that really.

Manor Grange have packed in the riding school. My nephew used to go there. I think they still do lessons with your own horse though.
