Good saddle fitter in Essex

George had his back checked on Tues and it was a bit sore again, I had it done when I got him 3mths ago and it was sore then, the following week I also had his saddle fit checked and re-stuffed. I am now worried about this soreness in his back, the physio said it was probably because I am asking him to different work, incld schooling which he isn't used to. But, it could be his saddle, when I think about it, when the saddler came out he didn't ask me to sit on the saddle on George - surely this can't be right? So the long shot is, can anyone recommend a good saddle fitter in Essex who will happily check my existing saddle - thanks

Hi Trish,

I have had three horses fitted with saddles by Roger at Ingatestone Saddlery. All fitted beautifully, never causing any problems, and he is really thorough. They also have a good selection of new and secondhand depending on your budget. He is also really good at making adjustments to existing saddles if that will work, and does not try to push a new saddle on you if it is not needed. Lots of people on my yard, including the YO, use him.

I've used John Rowe from South Essex (Longwood) with good results, he fitted my Barnsby saddle, asked me to ride in it etc, and my boy is a lot happier in it.
