My pony is in Liphook tonight having a bone scan and some other tests. Hypoalbumineamia! Whatever that is and neurological signs when on a tight circle.

Sore subject! Scan done yesterday, still waiting for vet to ring. Nurse rang fobbing me off with vet not in today! Not good enough!

Liphook not on my xmas list! Finally got results, no result! Not any trauma in neck or back anyway. Vet only rang me after I threatened to go get my horse! I then got told not to be rude to the staff who tried to fob me off all day! Not happy, just want my horse home and away from there!

Oh know that's not good u should be kept updated on things and if cancelled delays then u should be rung r they doing any more tests or can u collect ur horse x

Good luck

Never had a problem with Liphook and I have had a number of horses there, but my vet now use O'Gormans.

I had a mare in O'Gormans recently for a MRI got the results the same day and got to discuss the results with the vet when I picked her up.

Hi hope u get some answers unusual for such a big hospital to have that sort of standard of info to clients maybe had a really busy day emergencies ect but u still should have got a phone call x

Sadly it is NOT unusual for Liphook :( I've had the awful experience of having 4 separate horses there. The first had grass sickness and we had to ring in the end as we had waited patiently thinking they could be busy but absolutely no updates in 24 hours is not good enough!! They then rang to say they wanted to operate, we didn't get another update until we rang and asked how it went. Not once did we get a phone call to update us until they rang to say they wanted to PTS!!

The second had peritonitis and I had to ring them yet again for updates and was promised the vet would call me back that day....nobody called!! I eventually got to speak to a vet 22.5hours after he was admitted (I was told he could die when admitted so you can imagine my need for updates as to how he was doing)

The final two were a friends mare and foal (friend was abroad on holiday when the accident happened :() The mare had a fractured skull and was very ill. Even though I had taken them and signed the forms to say I would pay the bill they wouldn't tell me anything when I called for updates.

The mare died!! They were on the phone then as they wanted the foal taken home!!

Thank you everyone, he is home and I am much happier. Still needs steroids but only another two weeks then weaning him off them. So glad he is home
