My 7 year old daughter has had a terrible accident - not involving a horse, but a pony-loving little girl.
She has had skull & neuro surgery in the past, & has had her whole skull rebuilt following a condition from birth.
I left her in my friend's care yesterday at her house, whilst I went to an outpatients appointment. We thought she'd be bored waiting so went there to play instead.
She was in my friend's 14 year old son's 1st floor bedroom. Her other son was throwing a ball outside towards the window. She climbed on the bed to open the window because she thought it would be funny if the ball came in the bedroom when he next threw it. The windows are different to ours and open further, which she wouldn't have known. She lost her balance & fell headfirst out of the window 15' to the gravel below, landing on her head & arm. We arrived back just after the ambulance had been called.
The paramedics called in the air ambulance to air lift her. I am obviously staying with her in hospital, hoping & praying for a full recovery. Please send positive vibes her way for a full recovery.
I cannot praise highly enough the work of the air ambulance. We will be seeking to do some fund raising work for them in the future.
My friend obviously feels dreadful about this. It's shocking how something can happen in a split second - to a usually very sensible child.
