I was looking for a place to walk the dogs over the next few days and I wondered if anyone knew any nice areas to allow dogs to run off the lead? Mainly common/woodland areas that are fairly quiet?

I found these two areas on websites: Marden Park and "Monks Walk" (apparently starts down a road called Gracious Pond?) Anyone had experience of these and are they are good to walk the dogs on?

Thank you.

Mickelham Downs, it's between Leatherhead and Guildford. It's a steep climb from the village, or can be approached from the other side, at Tyrells Wood, from memory.

Farthing Downs, Coulsdon Common, Happy Valley, (alll corporation of london areas) Harewood in Bletchingly (National Trust property)
Ranmore Common near Dorking, Viewpoint in Caterham list is endless!

It depends where you are really , there are so many good walks it is hard to narrow it down . I lived for twenty plus years in the Guilford , Godalming , Farnham areas and there were many fantastic walks . A few I really love 1. Chilworth around the Gunpowder factory . There is a stream as well for dog paddling though it is (was) very shady . 2. St. Marthas (Just up from Chilworth ) beautiful woods on steep hill. 3. Also near Chilworth is Blackheath Village . Lovely walking and a pub (Villagers)for apres walk drinks ( got to be done !).
