Which websites do people tend to look at for horse sales? I've not bought a horse for literally 2 decades and back then you only had horse and hound for adverts! Is horsequest a good one? Any others? Thanks

Horsequest - good, tends to be horses on the pricier side (don't except to find a bargain)

Horsemart, Horse&Hound - pretty much just like horsequest, nothing to comment on

Preloved - worth a look at, has a big variety of horses (not ones that go up for mega bucks though)

DragonDriving - typically used by travellers, but not just: you can find some nice animals tucked away but also some that look in very poor shape. Good site to find driven horses.

NFED - good if you're in the South, mostly has horses based around the New Forest & surrounding areas

RightHorseRightHome - doesn't have very many for sale, but I've only heard good things about the type of people that use it

HorseExchange - seems alright, I've never once used it though

Ehorse - there's better sites to use if you're just looking for horses in the UK, but, if you want something from the continent, this is where you'd go

Then, of course, there's tons of different groups of Facebook, some more general, some more specific. Or, if you're looking for a specific breed, going to the breed society's webpage is also a good idea.

What type of horse are you looking for? Someone on here might know of something, and plenty of us (including myself) enjoy trawling through the above sites to find people suitable ads.

Thank you so much that's fantastic!! I'd never heard of some of those so I'll definitely take a look!

Looking for a first ridden for my pony obsessed daughter, 12-13.2hh max, not too young to do all the usual PC type stuff, up to about £5k...we are in the West Midlands/Welsh border area. Thanks! ?

Worth looking on the Pony Club pages then too, here https://classified.pcuk.org/classifieds/browse-ads/

I would suggest that you try to find a pony locally to where you are based so that other locals will know its true history and temprament. The Pony Club are a good source o local horses but also put up wanted advert in your local feed store/tack merchants.
