Good Weekend

I went to Gatcombe on Saturday which was a great day out. Not been before. Did a course walk with Oliver Townsend which was good

desperatly tried to get a £280 pair of dressage boots which were reduced to £90 on but failed

(poor shop assistant though I went back three times!)
Sunday I went to Berrington Hall Horse trials. Charm was a bit too sharp in the dressage she doesn't like the lake there

to score 36 point something. Clear sj (phew after the last two attempts) and then one stop XC. It was a babyish stop and she stopped and snorted at it but then jumped it 2nd time of asking.
Really chuffed that we at least completed this time and she was full of running and really keen.
Lovely venue as well.

Glad to hear you made it in the end. Was the ground ok after?

Yes not bad. Full marks to the organisers they had done loads of work on the XC with the aerovator and then clearly marked it. The course rode really well and Charm seemed happy on it. They also extended the time so you could go in a steady canter
I was worried about the sj as although they had aerovated it walked hard but I didn't seem to have a problem.
I won't bother entering anything now though until the dry spell is over.
