Went to pontispool today and was surprised to find it dead quiet. On arrival there was a group in the all weather arena jumping and that was it. Almost all of the little fences had been removed in preparation for the BE event so my time in the first field was a lot shorter than I thought. Started with lots of paddling in the water and over the small humped back table and then the table by the water. Bit hesitant off the steps but that improved.
Then trundled off round the course jumping a mix of intro and pre novice (i think) fences. At the mini water I did eat a bit of dirt though!! for those that know it one option is to come down the slope through the water for a few strides back up slope over hanging log and then drop down and then up slope again and out to another fence.
Came down first time and she pecked/tripped in the water stumbling forward, came up to the log with no impulsion but jumped it (I didn't ask her) she went high and I went higher still! landed together but not for long and I ended up out the side door. Bless her she continued cantering (me thinking b*gger by bye Fleur) but she soon stop turned round and went 'what you doing down there' and allowed me to catch her whilst my two friends with me were just giggling!!! thanks mates! Came through again perfectly which was really pleased about.
went on round did a few corners, down through the middle of that snakey thing through all three parts then back to the first field for another paddle as the last water was closed off.
Had a really good day and definetly constructive as she was jumping the steps far more confidently by the end. We even jumped what I presume is possibly novice (will be told pre novice now!) fence of step out of first water, bounce step up, stride log on top of bank stride and decent step down
