Goodbye, and thank you...

Hmm Hmm Hmm

And now, the end is near;
And so I face the final curtain.
My friend, Ill say it clear,
Ill state my case, of which Im certain.

Ive lived a life thats full.
Ive traveled each and evry highway;
And more, much more than this,
I did it my way.

Regrets, Ive had a few;
But then again, too few to mention.
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exemption.

I planned each charted course;
Each careful step along the byway,
But more, much more than this,
I did it my way.

Yes, there were times, Im sure you knew
When I bit off more than I could chew.
But through it all, when there was doubt,
I ate it up and spit it out.
I faced it all and I stood tall;
And did it my way.

Ive loved, Ive laughed and cried.
Ive had my fill; my share of losing.
And now, as tears subside,
I find it all so amusing.

To think I did all that;
And may I say - not in a shy way,
No, oh no not me,
I did it my way.

For what is a man, what has he got?
If not himself, then he has naught.
To say the things he truly feels;
And not the words of one who kneels.
The record shows I took the blows -
And did it my way!

Bit more Sid than Frank, but I tried

Just because a person has owned a horse for years does not prove they know the horse. Without knowing the full facts no one can judge that mare & state she was being stubborn. How would anyone know if that mare had not smelt or seen something that concerned it? Horses don’t have to stand there looking terrified/snorting to prove the point. Beating that mare with a branch has taught it nothing positive & as I stated if it is unacceptable to beat/hit a child why do we feel it acceptable to beat/hit an animal who is less likely to understand what we are asking. And yes I have smacked my daughter & I have hit a horse, & I have been shown this makes me the looser because it has always been done out of frustration. All this person needed to do was get off her mare & lead her forward reward her & get back on. Or back her up, move her sideways whatever it took to get her to move her feet, reward her then try again. If I remember correctly the mare just stopped & would not go forwards. As it was they hit stalemate & as is typical of a human the horse had to be acting in stubborn manner & therefore could not win the battle.

Good post Magic.

I have, over the years, been explaining to my young daughter that she must learn to trust the instincts of her pony......she finally learned this, comprehensively, 2 years ago when her pony refused to walk on with her whilst in our woods. There was a bear around the corner - the pony was protecting her!

She now understands what I mean when I constantly say to her to keep "listening to her horse".

i never much fall-out with my pony but a cuople of weeks ago i was tacking up and she was tied in the stable.she was fidigting about so i slapped her neck only to brush her legs and find we were stood in ants.

Am I the only one who has that flaming song from Evita going through their head now?

Goodnight and thank you Huevo
She is in every magazine
Been photographed, seen, she is known
We don't like to rush, but your case has been packed
If she's missed anything, you could give her a ring
But she won't always answer the phone

*sings and twirls*

*dances quietly away from the forum, humming*

And without knowing the full facts nobody can state the mare was not just being stubborn - but the only one who was there was the owner, so shes probably best qualified to judge.

Oh and I also agree with smacking children, so that probably makes me the devil incarnate

Why dont you get over yourself? Couldnt really give a t*ss because all you seem to do is make posts about topics that are bound to get everyone wound up and then bitch when people have a go at you. Doubt you will be missed.

How do you know that Randira is not a nice person? Just because she is saying what many people may be thinking, doesn't make her not nice, it just makes her truthful of how she feels.

I personally don't care whether people stay or go - it's totally their choice but if they make a leaving post then perhaps not everyone will be sad to see them go? Just a thought.

What a load of fuss over what is only when all is said and done an internet forum. It isn't like it is real life! Stay if you want to stay, leave if you want to leave but stand by your own decisions and if you believe in things strongly then continue to post.

This isn't a popularity competition but somewhere to learn more about horses and hear different people's experiences and opinions surely?

But I have to say I absolutely love your siggy pictures. They are brilliant!

What a stunning horse you have, and don't you ride him well!

True, however in my time on here, there are very few people that actually make a leaving post....who end up leaving. They generally just re-register as someone else. The ones who have left and not returned generally haven't posted "leaving" threads.
