Goodbye beautiful girl

What a write up to give any horse your love shines through, sounds like your horse was well kept and happy until the end.

I do not think any horse could ask for more and what you have written shows a real affection and true love,I am sure your mare is resting in peace.
 
So sorry for your loss, but it sounds like you (and your trusted representative) made all the right decisions and ensured a peaceful end to a long, well-loved and happy-sounding life x

I know how you feel, its hellish hard, I had to put my boxer bitch to sleep just a few weeks ago, 17th march, so I know how hard it is, god bless X
 
What a beautiful and incredibly touching post.

You gave her the very best and in return she stayed with you for as long as she could.

It's so sad to lose them but just so wonderful to have had them and your girls age really was outstanding and is a real credit to you.

I am so sorry. As others have said, she was blessed with a loving and caring owner who did everything she could for her throughout her life. It is what every horse deserves and sadly what few get. I hope you can take some comfort in knowing you gave her such a happy life and that she ended her days in her home with your trusted friend. Run free beautiful girl x
 
I'm so sorry for your loss. I read your other post and ment to reply but didn't, but you have been in my thoughts, I knew by reading your other post you and your friend would do what was right by your mare and also that she would let you know when she was ready to go.
What a special pony she was and what a wonderful owner you are. She would have known how much you loved her. ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) to you.

N- you should be very proud of how you have given your beautiful friend a wonderful life and a dignified and selfless end.she would only have known that she was loved and safe and without pain right til the end. Hugs to you and let the happier memories of her help you through this
 
Oh Niki, I'm so sorry, I know how much you loved your girl, and you made so many difficult decisions all in her best interests - there aren't that many horses who are lucky enough to be owned by such a selfless & caring person.

So many more lovely comments - thank you so much. We're all very sad, and it is also very hard for my friend who now has an empty stable and paddock to look at after around 17 years of occupancy. I sent her some flowers and she has put them outside my girl's stable which is very lovely, and then the thought of that set me off again. At least my boys are off on school holidays now, so that will keep me busy. :) x
 
A butterfly lights beside us like a sunbeam..
And for a brief moment its glory and beauty belongs to our world..

You know to use the word lucky sounds wrong but reading your tribute to your girl she definitely was a well loved and cared for horse who had her needs totally met. What a relief to hear your trusted friend was able to step up and carry out your wishes as planned. Friends like that are worth their weight in gold.
