Blossom was a Traditional Welsh Section D Cob. She was the kindest horse you could ever imagine - she did not have a bad bone in her body and could be ridden by anyone. She was gifted to me as a 50th birthday present when Blossom was 15 years old by a very good friend of mine who kept her with me. I had the great pleasure of owning Blossom for over 13 years.
She was quite capable of undoing the top bolt of her stable in under a second in an attempt to escape to the front garden where she could eat the lovely green grass (a trick she succeeded in doing on her last day). She was just a lovely horse who was the greatest of pleasures to own. I rode her every now and then but she was mainly ridden out by two of my friends when we rode out together doing some very long hacks up to 5 hours long stopping at a pub for a drink half way round.
Sadly my friend Lyn that gifted her to me died 3 years after giving her to me, which was very sad but Blossom was always a great living memory to her.
On her last day (Tuesday 21 April 2015) Blossom was put out on the lawn of my front garden. It was a peaceful sunny day and she was eating carrots and apples as she was put down. Hopefully she will now be passing over the Rainbow Bridge where her former field companion will be waiting to greet her as she arrives at the pearly gates of heaven.
