I’ve also only just seen this Birker - so so sorry to hear this. It’s completely shit to lose a horse you love, even when you’ve given them the best chance you can.
I took a long time away from here after Geoff passed. It’s not a bad thing. I personally still struggle with feelings of guilt even though I know logically I went a lot further than most people would to help him, and I needed the time.
Only just seen this @Birker2020 so sorry for your loss. I said goodbye to my younger lad after 4 1/2 yrs earlier this year and still feel traumatised by events, even though I know it was the right decision we still mourn/grieve/miss them so much. Take care
I've also only just seen this too, I'm so sorry for your loss. You were so devoted to Lari and doing right by him, I hope that will give you some comfort in time - he couldn't have had a more dedicated owner. You've had a really tough time and I hope you are managing as best you can. Take care.
I was thinking today that I hadn't seen your name recently. I don't normally wander into this bit of the forum unless I'm having a vet conundrum but today I wandered, saw your post and wanted to say how sorry I was to read your news. Lari was very lucky to have been owned by you, and it sounds like you did him proud. You may never see this but I hope you're having a good reset - you've had a tough year and certainly deserve some peace.
