Yesterday I held my beautiful girl Sydney as she was put to sleep by our vet. I hugged her tight and cried into her fur as she took her last breath.
I'm in bits. We got her when she was about 8 months old and she wasn't too far off 15 years old.
She had the typical traits of an Australian Cattle Dog in that she was stubborn, so very vocal but completely loyal and devoted. She also went against the grain for the breed in that she was completely happy doing absolutely nothing at all much of the time and never once attempted to nip our ankles, loved kids and attention...
She's buried in my step-daughters field, near the willow tree...
RIP my beautiful girl. I'll never forget you.
