Goodbye my gorgeous boy

So, so sorry to read this. We've been through the same with my friend's horse a week or so ago, so know how you're feeling, (although he was 27). We were there til the end but drove round the block while the deed was done, then came back and spent a good hour, just sat with him and my horse said goodby to him too.

It sounds like you have given Happy a lovely life with you and you have made a very selfless decision - enough is enough - and to go with the sun on his back. Thinking of you at this incredibly sad time.x

Chin up lass - criying with you here - the hole in your heart does become a treasure chest of comfort and love - and you will take his strength with you from today.

Run free - bet he will be offering to race rummy in a replay of the G.N, especailly with the jump you taught him!

Goodbless you both

GW

Your post has brought tears to my eyes. So sorry for your sad loss. You gave Happy a wonderful life and gave him the best. He'll always be with you in your heart. RIP Happy. Run wild, run free. x

I am terribly sorry for your loss. *hugs*

I know just what your going through. I bought my mare in May 2008 too and had to put her to sleep in June when she was only 9.

The loss is still raw even now but i'm sure it will get easier.

(((((((((hugs))))))))))) You gave him such a wonderful time with you and you gave him every chance you could but in the end you had to make such a brave desition which was the best for him. He will be forever grateful for all you have done for him. Take care. xxxxxxxxxx

RIP Gorgeous Boy. xxxxxxxxxx

I am so sorry for your loss, you must be feeling such a mixture of feelings at the moment. It is a sad sad day - take the time to reflect and think about it all and let your feelings out. I tried to suppress them all day when I had my boy PTS earlier this year and to be honest when I finally fell exhausted into bed that night I couldnt sleep because all I could think about was him etc etc.

It sounded like you did very best for him and he has gone being warm and happy, relatively pain free and loved - not many horses have that and you have been a very brave and responsible horse owner/friend.

Lots of hugs xx

Just adore ex racers, he was a super super boy and I am sitting here feeling very misty eyed and I didn't even know him.

Be brave hon. RIP handsome man.

Gone but never forgotten

xxxxxxxx

Farewell to your beautiful boy. He's had the time of his life with you looking at the pictures of you both. Take care, I'm so sorry for your loss.

What a lovely tribute to your horse. It brought a lump to my throat and tears to my eyes.

Better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all. ((((((( Hugs)))))))))

Aw - so sorry for your loss. What a handsome horse and I'm sure he is thankful to you for giving him those happy times spent with you and your dog. Bless you.
