My dog has recently started getting really gooey eyes. Worse in the morning when he wakes up. I've never noticed it before, not to this degree anyway. Is this normal or could he have an eye infection or something?

My 2 had this a few days ago, must be something going round. I just cleaned with cooled boiled water with a little salt added, use a cotton wood pad and wipe from the corner to the edge of the eye and use a different pad for each eye. Mine cleaned up in a day or so

If it's clear, it's seasonal allergies. If it's green or brown in colour, it's an infection.

You could use Brolyn (spelling ) eye ointment very good for infection in eyes and can be bought over the counter or failing that try cleaning with milk, but make sure you always use clean cloth/cotton wall for each wipe of the eye.

It's spely Brolene if you are looking for it.
You can also now get antibiotic eye drops over the counter forom a chemist, you will have to lie and say they are for a human though or they won't sell them to you.

ok thanks for your advice everyone i will try cleaning them properly and carefully first and see if it helps if not will try brolene
