GoPro

press and slide - We looked at ours for ages in similar fashion. There's a clip that lifts up or down (can't remember) then it slides out of the mount.

Just wanted to come back and post the first few recordings using the GoPro. Hooked it up on my friend in Ireland the other week when I was there and was impressed with the footage. Can't wait to try it out on my own horses at home (will maybe get it on my filly who is being trained at the track near me when I visit her on the weekend).

Here are the links for the three races we recorded:

I am happy to be able to give an update too. FINALLY managed to get the darn thing out of the box, bought the fixing kit off e-bay recommended by Darbs, used the helmet harness and took it skiing last week. It is AWESOME! Everything was pin sharp, no matter how fast I went, and somehow it managed to get the people in focus and the mountain behind them. Need to get the videos onto my laptop so I can edit them now, then use the camera on the pony.

Glad it was useful, I have also now rigged my GoPro Hero 5 up in our horse trailer to wirelessly show pictures to an iPhone in the car so my daughter can watch our pony when we are travelling. I also have it recording at the same time, so if there is ever an issue we can see what we can do to resolve it.

Just from recording our short journeys so far we have already found that when he is cross tied, one of the restraints needs to be much shorter than we were tying it as it was not doing much. Plus we were trying a new hay bag that was much bigger than a hay net, and it really reduced the space around his head and occasionally waved around his face, clonking him on the nose. So we went back to a normal small hay net. Although we may even remove it completely as the GoPro footage shows he doesn't bother with it at all.
