I went last year and bought a lovely mare one year on and i am sill happy with my purchase. average price was around 3000 some bid way up usually if olley townend was bidding. Fantastic sale. ps there are bargins aswell my mare was.
As i live here, I have been to goresbridge many times, have bought and sold there, for the most part, it's fine. Obviously, there are the odd dodgy ones, but as a seller, in goresbridge, you dont get paid for 6 weeks, as buyer has 4 weeks to throw up horse, so for most part, what you see is what you buy, as no-one has the time or energy to sell a horse that will be thrown up. Some amazing horses sold there, best of luck buying, it's a great sales,, and because of the cost of entering, etc... you normally get the best of the best at the sales. xxx
Sorry to hijack this post slightly!!! I know you are specifically referring to the September Sport horse Performance Sales next week .......but curious as to what Goresbridge sales some of you H&H guys prefer to come over for.
Is is the regular monthly sales or do you prefer to wait for the Sport Horse Performance Sales??
Seagull, regular monthly sales are a little more dodgy. alot are sold as seen, no comeback. still, way better than average monthly sales, as goresbridge has a good name, but can still be very dodgy in monthly. (Basically, if the horse isnt good enough for special sales, will be sold at monthly). I sold my mare, to a dealer in goresbridge, I was taking out her plaits, afterwards, crying my heart out, and he came over and asked why i was crying. I told him my story(Bla bla, was pregnant and my dad made me sell everything, as "punishment"). TUrns out, mare ended up in my friends yard, and had a really great life afterwards, was sooooo happy!!! still miss her!!
Thnks Popeyesno1fan, I did think this was the case. I have purchased years ago from Goresbridge but have never sold anything. I might pop over and have a look!
