My 4x4 has yet again gone in for further body repairs which Im hoping is the last and final time. Everything is double crossed.
Basically Mini hit me up the bum (in August 09) and the repairs done by the main dealer have been appalling (been back to them 4 times since) and have had meetings after meetings with the third party insurers and the body repairer, and in the end had to obtain and pay out for an independent accident specialist engineer who provided a report that the repairs needed redoing properly therefore in my favour. Oh and vehicle clocked up well over 100 miles travelling to and from the repairers!!! Appalling!
So my 4x4 is now being repaired for the 5th and hopefully final time by a (non dealer) accident body repairer down the road. I called into them today to see how things were progressing and its got its wing off already not a happy sight I must say. BUT I have seen what the utter crappy workmanship the previous body repairers have done. They appear to have been cutting corners and hiding things!!! ..so a word of warning DONT be rail-roaded into signing that the repair works are satisfactory to your vehicle once you have got it back from the repairer; nor be convinced again and again that the repair works are satisfactory to them if they are not.
The 3rd Party insurers have provided me with a fabulous Mercedes ML 4X4 2010 plate courtesy car and have found that its worth around £50K or even more. The trouble is its 3.5 litre engine and its just drinking the fuel (my 4x4 is only 2 litres). I have to take up 2 spaces in the supermarket car park as its just far to wide for one bay. Its a bit of a nightmare on very narrow country lanes (where the yard is) when you get a totally plonker driving fast towards you and especially around the bends!
Was wondering if any H&H forum readers have had similar problems as me.
