Got a horse ~ Must be loaded !!

yes. horses are expensive so i would agree that a person must have a decent amount of income to own one (or more) then again, i know a few folk who dont have tuppence and i wonder how they manage- they obviously lake big sacrifices in other areas of their life and thats their choice. Children are also v expensive to keep and although i have no kids myself I would never say 'wow u must be loaded' if i heard someone was having a child! and yes, i also know many folk who have kids and i wonder how on earth they manage on a low income.

Yep, I've been told I must be rich for years now. It usually comes from people who smoke, or are out partying every weekend! I don't have a social life, and spend less on my animals than they do in the pub.

That is a very good point, if people who make comments regarding what you spend on horses happen to have kids, then it seems only fair (and just as rude) to throw the comment back at them And - this one is controversial - at least one doesn't get benefits to support horses that one cannot afford to support by oneself and hence perhaps should have planned better before getting... ? Oh dear. Probably best not to say anything ;-)

I have a few horses and i am money poor, but for the happiness i get from the horses makes me very rich.
