well... im off to Hartpury in September and Teddy will be coming with me. But im not sure what size box i will need to travel him in. I'm not comfortable doing 3 and a half hours with him in a trailer and my mum is not a competent trailer driver having never driven one before. We would like to get a box but thats a way off, but i have a few people i may be able to borrow one from. But im not sure what size ill need

Teddy is a 16.2hh ISH (3/4TB 1/4ID i believe) he is quite long and also is tall through his neck etc. Would a 3.5 tonne be enough or would you recommend bigger?

thankyou and a cuppa and sponge cake for getting through my drivel

I brought my 3/4 TB, 1/4 Shire down from York to Cambridge in a 3.5 tonne Theault. She's a 6'9 rug size and fitted fine in the 3.5 tonner BUT when we took her over to Hartpury we travelled herringbone in my 8' wide by 8' tall 7.5 tonne lorry and she was happier - no stomping about when we had to pull up for whatever reason.

I'd give Teddy a try in whatever lorry you're thinking of taking him to Hartpury in.

I would say depends on the head room as he is quite a tall lad. Its a long way to go if he isn't comfortable for want of a larger lorry
