Got bitten today - naughty pony!

My OH came up to the yard with me and he did Nelly's roller up whilst I was standing in front of her talking to someone outside the stable and not paying attention to what she was doing. Little madam lunged at me with her teeth bared and bit me hard on the hand. I was wearing thick gloves (luckily) but it has still come up in a big lump and the bruising is coming out already. When I told her off she went to sulk in a corner and then batted her eyelashes at me until I forgave her.

I think she was in a mood because I had just loaded her into her new trailer (to check that she loaded as well as her previous owner said) but I didn't take her anywhere because the thick fog meant that it was too dangerous to drive. I think she was hoping we were off somewhere exciting.

Our gelding bit my wife on the thigh yesterday, as she was doing up his girth. I think he was grumpy, as he does not seem to like the cold too much and also since we have had him (4 months) I have tacked him up about 90% of the time.

He got her a treat, and she has a darlin of a swollen bruise coming up

Hmmmm. Helping to get all the neds in today and one grey mare was positively squirting into the face of the handsomest gelding there. Little tart, but guess its spring! Wonder if your girl is feeling her sap rising???

She might be B0F. I've not had her that long so I'm not sure how "hormonal" she gets. She did play up when we were out on a hack and rode past the field where the miniature stallion is kept. She's never shown much interest in him before. I do hope that she isn't going to be too "tarty". My last mare was such an embarassment waving her nether portions in the geldings faces and calling to them constantly - lol
