Got kicked in the face earlier by one of the horses at the yard...just got out of A&E now with the prognosis of a broken nose and 3 stitches [Well...sticky stitches as I'm a wuss with needles! Doctor was lovely and sympathetic and said he'd do sticky ones for me. Yes...I'm a wuss!]. Had a 3 hour wait not knowing what I'd done and refused to look at it until halfway through the wait....big mistake! Cue hysterics again.

Anyway....reasonable gash to the top of my nose with a very suspect broken nose underneath that.

I don't want to look in the mirror....certainly not tomorrow at least! Big sunglasses coming out :(
 
Poor you. Hope they've given you plenty of pain relief. I fractured my cheek, jaw bone and eye socket a few years back and it looked a real mess and was v.painful. healed really well though so I'd advise plenty of rest and it will look better in a few days. Take care.
 
At least you have a reason for looking that way- I was just born with a wonky nose!!! Seriously take care, rest, shout for confidence help if/when you need it and try not to laugh ! x
 
Ow!!!! Poor you!! Take some arnica pills and don't look in the mirror for a few days is my advice. It happened to me, 3 weeks before I got married, luckily with make up and fairy dust I didn't look too bad on the day.

Thanks guys. One of the horses spooked, went up and struck out out of nowhere and I just was in the way...didn't even see it coming. Didn't get knocked out but boy did it bleed...I looked like something in a bloody horror movie lol. Can officially say I took one in the face lol!

I'm not looking forward to the mirror tomorrow, I can feel it swelling now. :(
 
Thanks guys :( It doesn't actually hurt atm, other than when I eat...so not too bad all things considered. It's been numb since it happened and didnt even sting when the nice doctor cleaned it up...hoping it carries on that way lol but I think that's being over ambitious!
 
ouch, but could have been worse so be grateful for that. If you have a broken nose you will get black eyes, so maybe stay away from mirror , and stay at home. Sympathy though. I broke my nose when young, it hurts.


My horse kicked a friend in the head, when she touched her on the leg (my horse got a fright, did not know she was there). Had a mammoth swelling on her face/jaw and a pretty nasty headache for a few days.
 
Oh dear, hope you are okay soon! I broke my nose about 8 years ago and I looked quite hilarious for about a week, and went through all kinds of stunning colours.. the swelling was legendary. It happened on a Saturday and by the Monday (so I guess 9 days later?) it looked a lot better. No lasting damage luckily!
