Got my life back!

Just a quick update from me.... as some of you may remember I broke my leg/ankle in 3 places on 5 Aug. I spent a week in hospital and have had two operations on it. 6 weeks in non-weight bearing plaster and literally housebound for weeks........

Anyway, I am now walking (not very fast), driving, riding, back at work full time and have entered a dressage comp next weekend

I know its nothing much but it feels great to finally have my life back

Thanks for all the great PMs from people that have been through/going through the same stuff - such a help!

What great news - I suffered an injury a couple of years ago which meant I could ride for nearly 4 months - I went crazy!!!

Glad to hear you are on the mend. Keep us posted.

Just walking to the kettle to make a cup of tea is bliss! Although having to take my turn in cooking dinner again isn't so much bliss

Yes rising trot is back... been increasing the length of time each day and although the leg is still a bit wobbly it is much stronger... all that sitting trot did me good though

Brilliant news and well done. I had an op in March that put me out of action for a couple of months (but I tried in the meantime) then when I was fully recovered(ish) I dislocated my shoulder and insisted I rode in a sling cos I couldnt bear more non-riding time. Most people would read the title "I got my life back" to mean no more horses and lots of time socialising etc, no way, wheres the contentment in that? Good luck this weekend and let us know and be careful!!

Brill stuff! But I am very jealous of you aswell as being pleased for you! My back went 5 months ago and I still have not got my life back...I have got back on my boy a few times with some pain killers afterwards but it is still causing me bother...I have totally forgotten what normal feels like!!!
