got my reply from my animal reading as discussed on other thread! long!!

Gosh PricklyFlower no wonder you get emotional what a lovely reading.

My Bigbird reading is going to take 2 weeks - it seems Lesley is inundated with requests from HHO :) I will post it on here once it is here and would love to see your other readings.

wow haha! i gave mine in on saturday afternoon and she said it will be back by the end of the week and it came back today, im going to send one of my old pony that i sold to see if she gets any idea of where he is or if hes even alive!

anyone see that derren brown programme about mediums etc? I dont want to put a dampner but most of that reading could apply to my horse as well. Not saying its wrong but seems a lot of general horsey stuff in there- Last owner not managing, rider /horse disagreements, annoyed by flies. Maybe i should get one done see if im proved wrong?

Absolutely what I was thinking. Sorry guys but this is the most basic case of cold reading I have ever seen!

I would save your money or donate it to charity if you really want to give it away.

I'm also sceptical and believe that reading could apply to near enough any horse - it's very general apart from the field shelter and sandcrack part, of which you horse has never had sandcrack as far as you know. I'd be interested to hear of more readings from her to see whether they are similar in any way.

no but i just spoke to YO and his field mate does have a sand crack. there are a few readings posted on this thread, have a read through them.

I am not convinced by it all, i think it is a bit vague and a bit of a guessing game.

I am not sure that you really gain anything from it, as she seems to just tell you what you want to and already know.

But i would still give it a go, as you don't know until you try it and see what she says.

Thanks for sharing, :)

very true that you dont know till you try! you can ask specific questions like what does he really like, but i didnt ask anything. i was sceptic but gave it a go and would do it again.

I was in floods of tears reading it the first time when he was alive and well, it brought a lump to my throat each time I read it! I was so happy.

Here's the others:-

This is the first reading I am doing, and have got the photo of Teddy here and will see what I get.

Firstly I want to call him a cheeky chappie, I feel that he is clever and has a very good brain and is able to open gates, sacks and pretty much everything if he gets the chance. I feel that he is mostly a good boy and does what he is asked and you have “told him what you want of him” and he knows now and listens. (Teddy is very clever, I taught him to open the gate of the yard so I didn't have to get off - although you only had to give it a good shove and you couldn't leave any bales of anything around the yard where he could get to them tied up or he'd open them and spread the contents everywhere).

I feel when you first got him that he was a little more “testing” and that is an understatement, he would try things on with you to see what he could get away with, in a cheeky way! I can see him snatching his feet down, but equally feel that you firmly and very kindly told him what you expected and he followed your lead. I really do feel that he respects you Rachel and if you ask him something he will try and do it, but if others ask – he may – or he may not! (When I first got him he was an absolute nightmare and he nearly went back several times although this was due to aggressiveness and once I showed him that I wasn't going to put up with his aggressive behaviour he changed into a complete different horse with me but not for other people unfortunately)

I can also see him doing little bucks, but again I feel that you have got him over that by having an iron seat, I think if he had been able to buck someone off he would, but he couldn’t. (He only bucked when I first had him and that was because he didn't want to do any school work ... see below).

When I ask what happened before he came to you, I get the words boring, there is almost the feeling of going round and round???? Not sure what that means, but almost as if he was a riding school horse for a short time, if not going round and round somewhere. I do feel that he is essentially a childs horse, although I feel he can and does happily carry adults, but again I feel that you have had to work on him to get him to the point where you can do this by sorting out the slight bad manners that he had. (He's defo not a child's horse due to his aggressive tendancies but I can understand him being bored about schooling as he just absolutely hated it! This was one of the reasons why I asked Leslie about his past. I think he may have been one of those "mass produced" cobs which were backed very quickly and because of his very strong character he hated the experience and then hated the school work.)

It was nothing terrible, just him seeing what he could get away with, the problem was that he was very good at trying!!!

I feel that he loves the whole family and I see him especially loving a little girl (I know you sent me a photo of a little girl in another picture, but don’t want to get that out to check if it is that little girl, in case the energy of the photos gets mixed up). I feel that he responds well to anybody who is quietly confident on him and can be a fast and lovely fun ride. I feel that he excels at anything involving being surefooted and fast. I feel that I can see him doing Gymkhana games, but equally him being so fast that people fall off him on the speed turns. (Once you got his respect he did love you and was very very sweet but to strangers or those he didn't respect he was a nightmare. I had a girl that shared him with me and he did adore her - and she adored him. Outside the school he was a fast and lively ride, certainly fun! Lots of people had lots of fun with him and he loved gymkhana games and was brilliant at them, for a big cob!)

I really get the feeling of him enjoying hacking, he is brilliant and a lot of fun, a clever little pony who is strong and agile.

I have asked him about he past again, but again I get the word boring!! So I guess I must say that his all he will say on that subject. Almost as if he doesn’t want to go there anymore, that doesn’t feel out of fear, but more like living in the moment and not wanting to go back?

In terms of him being happy, yes very much so, chirpy and happy and cheeky!

In answer to what can you do to make their life happier “let me loose in the feed shed!!!!” I have told him that isn’t going to happen, but he says it has before and he will try again!! I feel that he could eat double his weight and not stop and he loves apples so that will make him happy. I also get the feeling of Sugar Beet too, but I don’t think Speedi Beet, more like the older beet. He is showing me liking that, and Swedes! Actually I think anything feed related makes him happy, but I know that you have to work hard to stop him being fat so again, feel that he might have to keep hoping! He really is a good doer isn’t he? (Yes he was a very good doer!! He lived on fresh air and was always hungry!)

The last thing is the fast rides, with someone on him who isn’t frightened, he loves it and can nearly throw people off, even those that know him, as he swerves on a sixpence. A cracking happy pony! Loves the family.

************************************************

Lilly is very different from Teddy, she is strong, and safe but also nervous at times. It is strange because I feel that sometimes she can be very bold and great and not worried about anything, then I get her being worried by something that she has seen before and didn’t faze her yesterday!
(this is so true, lilly is a true "worrier" and sometimes she worries about being worried I think, some days worst than others, you can tell when she's worried as she flaps her bottom lip, the more worried she is the faster it will flap).

I feel that Lilly is very sensitive; you will need to try “lots of different things” with her before you find her comfort zones. I feel that means lots of different bridles, bits, etc and then she shows you what she wants. Again though she is a bit of a one, because what she likes one day she doesn’t he next! (Lilly is a sensitive little soul and i have tried different things with her)

I feel that this young lady riding her really does get on with her well, because she too is quite quiet, Lilly likes that she doesn’t fuss and shout and flap and I feel that when Lilly is ridden positively she responds so well. I do feel that if you put a complete novice on her she would be very good but if you put a cocky rider on her, she would “remove them”. I can see that she has a buck in her, but only very rarely and not really with this young lady! I feel that you can pretty much say that if you treat Lilly firmly but kindly she responds, if not well, watch out!! She will definitely let you know if she doesn’t like something. (Lilly is excellent with beginners but when my daugther gets too over confident or cocky she will throw in a well time bucked or duck out quickly from a jump if she's not riding her properly!!)

I can see that when you first got her, you would be leading her in, and if you weren’t concentrating she would run off, not for any more reason than because she could! It wasn’t a game for her, it was “I can see that you are not here, so I will go”. This is about her being sensitive, she needs her courage from her handler and rider and if you are all confident, she is great, if someone has a little fear, she will know! Maybe she is psychic!!?? I think really it goes with being sensitive. (I never had a problem leading her so not sure where this came from, she's perfect with both me and my daugther and I trust her 100% although she does, at times, need courage from rider and handler because she worries a lot).

I feel that she loves being ridden, can be quite fast, faster than you might think and again can be strong. I can see her hunting, but not sure if that might be before you but definitely in the past. I think she loved it but prefers smaller crowds!! (she hunted with her previous owners and was very fast and strong!)

She is definitely happy, and I think from what she shows me you have already done everything that you can to make her life easier, by trying different things til you know she is happy. Did you have to try a couple of saddles too? I just get the feeling of trying, til Lilly responds better. I don’t think that she has anything she wants changing at all and is quite happy. Just for you all to give her your strength on the days when she seems to be scared of her own shadow! However I feel that these days are far less frequent than they were, mainly due to you all knowing her now and knowing just to tell her to ignore the scary “whatever” and carry on, then she goes OK I will. A very happy horse, who really needs a knowledgeable family around her. I do think in the wrong hands she could be a handful, but she is fine. (Yes at the time I had 2 different saddles for her and in fact still do have 2 different saddles depending on what daugther is doing with her).

All in all, all 3 were totally different and all pretty accurate.

I'd use Lesley again!

I'd be interested to hear of more readings from her to see whether they are similar in any way.

I agree, however when I had mine done (from another communicator, not saying this lady isn't accurate too mind you, certainly sounds it) it was totally unique to us, not general at all, which is why I believe it. She said that when I ride her she puts her head up and cocks it to the right, and had an accident jumping a big yellow oxer with a man riding her and the scars on her legs are from bandages that were too tight when she "was in a big lorry, huge, and scary, and dark"
Too accurate, all spot on and I cant possibly be skeptical any more :)

i think it ran out, when i bought it on saturday it only had 3 days left. she prob wont put it back up untill she has gone through the ones shes got, sound like shes got lots to go through with us lot lol

I am always skeptical bout these things, but...

Prickly flower says the reader talks about bottle bucking his rider off before she had him.

I knew bottle well then, and he went through a very naughty stage of bucking his owner off, not loading, not letting her get on him etc etc etc. The reader talks alot about how unhappy he was during this period. I have to say his owner was lovely, but if i'm honest we all thought he was just taking the p out of her as she wa so nice. The reader also talks about his saddle not fitting, and during that period it was extremley difficult to get a decent saddler on the island. Mine had a new saddle per saddler. Since moving back to the uk he's only had one!

I am just wondering what benefit you are getting out of these readings? It seems to me from having read them through, that this lady is just telling you what you already know about your horses.

Are you just wishing to be reassured that your horse is currently happy?

I am sure that you would know yourself if your horse was unhappy.

I had one done on my five and they were scarily accurate. If they were that general, she could have said more-or-less the same about every one of them, but no, there are some VERY different, specific individual character types and she got all of them bang on.

I don't know how, but she identified one of the five as not being with us, not as in dead (although I had included one of a pony which had died, but she didn't go for her!) but this pony is out on loan, not too far away. Her words conveyed that exactly. I asked if my horse was missing anyone (I meant pony but tried to hint at person) and she said no but got the impression the loaned out pony wasn't actually there with us. I'd sent very unspecific pictures and ages and nothing more. The loan pony is actually the youngest, so not the obvious one to go for as 'absent'. The dead pony she said was at peace and wiped me out with that statement. To my mind she had no way of knowing. I sent a picture of our resident neurotic lying half asleep in the field. She said this horse is a worrier and went on to get her personality exactly. She also said she has one person and one person alone she will 'go' for. Again, correct in every way. It's how we ended up with her and buying her as my son is the only person who can get any sort of cooperation out of her. She picked up on three injuries which were mind-blowingly accurate. She mentioned none that might apply to the two which so far have had none with us! My horse has spavin in one hock - old and resolved and she identified which leg and qualified it as 'past and no longer active'. I gave a head shot only of this horse. The other was a fairly recent whack to one knee of another horse, which came up like a tennis ball. Right leg, right place on the leg. Head shot of this horse, too. She said this horse likes to 'look' at things and is very nosey - not spooky and silly, just likes to look hard. We had huge problems with her at first because she was too busy gawping at things. And I mean gawping. Incredibly hard to keep her attention and she still hacks out 'up periscope'. She is unusually and incurably 'what is that?' and seems to need to check everything out more than any horse I have ever come across. Not even when she's tired does it wear off. She's not looking to spook and shy - unlike our other pony who doesn't appear to be looking at anything, then wham - sideways and forwards. Very, very characteristic of her. The loan pony she described as a schoolmistress is exactly that. Why didn't she say any of the others were - they aren't as it happens! Far from it. She wasn't sensational and was a little reserved in her recount - factual, if you will and I didn't once think she had got it wrong or was talking twaddle and believe me, I wanted to!

Why did she say one was a one person only horse and not about the others? How did she pick the one that is? Too many specifics and no generalisations for me to write her off. I am the ultimate sceptic!

As said above, I got 2 readings done. One pony was put down as a worrier and the other as a cheeky mare. They were a few specfics within their readings, ie. the cheekiness really comes within ridden work and she likes to go fast. I have big plans for the worrier next year that include riding. She's sweet but naive and is strong when leading. We've only just started teaching her to lead and she is VERY strong.

Now to go on to Fidleys’ reading. I feel that Fidley is a lot more of a worrier, and can even be a stress head at times, she can react very quickly and I can see in the past she would go up and sort of rear, I feel that she would do that when lead, rather than ridden. She is improving especially over the last eighteen months and has settled a lot more since then. I feel that you have had her since she was young too. I feel that she is so very different from Tilly because she takes everything much more seriously, she would cuddle less and play less – still be loving, but would jump if you moved suddenly and look at you as if you have hit her, when you just turned round to look at something.

I feel that she is quite sweet and naïve Carrie, she feels that she has a lot more learning to go, but that you have started and done well. I feel that she can be strong when lead, and you have to really keep an eye on her, however I feel when you watch her in the field you are pleased because she has such good paces.

I feel that you have lots of plans for her “next year” and they include riding on and maybe a foal, now I know I say maybe, but that is because that has occurred to you as part of her progress, but I feel that you will not do this for a while in the long run, because you have other things that you want to do with her. I feel that when you work with her, you need to take your time and do each lesson many times over so that she is comfortable with it, she doesn’t learn as quickly as Tilly but then they are very different in all ways.

I feel that she loves Tilly but can be a pain to her, not quite sure how, but that is her words! I heard the words then “grow, grow, grow” I feel that you have been waiting for this time, for her to develop and be strong. In fact Tilly feels like “mum” but I don’t think that she actually is, not sure, that is what Fidley says – but I think that is more to describe Tilly’s nature as a slightly bossy Mum figure to her.

I feel too that Tilly will happily chase Fidley away from you so that she gets all the attention. I have had to delete Tilly’s photo from my page as she has continued to talk about herself even though I have moved on to Fidley, so if she is like that with you, she is like it with me too!

I feel that there is a lot for Fidley to learn, and she will take on a lot more next year, again I have had that before, there seems something is going to just “click” next year and she will be ready to go on with her education. Now just sometimes feels “too soon for Fidley”. She is a bright girl though even though you have to repeat things, it isnt because she doesn’t get it – it is to give her confidence!

I do feel that you have so much that you want to do with Fidley that you sometimes get frustated, not with her but in general, but she will get there really soon and be fantastic. She would ride very differently to Tilly, be a lot more forward and light in her action, whereas Tilly is stronger and heavier and you can feel that from on top. I feel that Tilly is fast, but Fidley feels faster still, like she has very fleet feet! She has a great action and could do a great dressage test in time, as she seems to glide along the ground, very unusual to see that but also lovely.

I went on to ask if she was in pain, and I am so pleased to say that she said “what is pain” so that shows she has had a great time in her past with you and before. I told her she has a home for life and it is a slightly disinterested “oh” again I feel that she wouldn’t have given it a thought, but also doesn’t know what the alternative would be like. Again that feeling of naïve!

She is a lovely mare and will be with you for a very long time, you will find an incredible bond with her in that she is a one person horse rather than loving everyone, you will look back in two years time and say, we have come a long way, and have really bonded.

I just keep getting the image of her turning quickly and knocking people over, not intentionally but to turn and look and panic. She would never mean to hurt anyone, but does move so quickly and react so quickly you would always have to watch people around her – just in case! I asked Fidley if she had anything else to say and she shyly said “I like apples” but it feels like “I really really like them, but I dont want to ask – very polite!

I can see the water pipe in the field and I got a glimpse of running away from the water pipe, which I think she did last year, you would have been moving things in the field and she “ran away from it” even though there was no water coming out, does that make sense Carrie? It wasn’t a big deal but as usual unexpected. She too does like cuddles but is much more polite than Tilly and doesn’t just “take them”. I think she will test you with the right way to teach her because she worries about things, but you will get into her way quickly (mainly because you have to Carrie, sorry, but she will be totally different to train than Tilly – that isnt negative, just a comment to help!) She is a lovely mare and will truly be your friend in years to come.

I have had a reply from Lesley regarding our two. I am not going to post the readings, but there is not the slightest doubt in my mind that these readings are genuine.

From a practical point of view, the reading of my OH's mare would have been more useful about three months ago, before we had a trainer / behaviourist help with her loading problem (the mare, not my OH!), but it is nice to know whether they are in pain, bored, or upset by anything.

The reading for my gelding had a couple of eye openers in it, especially concerning his time before he came to us. Having got to know him very well, I had imagined that his past life would not have challenged him much. It turns out that he feels we rescued him from utter boredom and misery

I am very happy to have spent my money on these readings, they are very enlightening.

Having skimmed a few of the ones relating to mares they all read the same to me tbh. They apply equally well to Sienna, namely that she is a sensitive, affectionate mare who loves her owner and will often demand attention, she can be strong and loves fast work, would love to do lots of jumping.
She and I have work on more advanced moves and have a great partnership but can get frustrated with each other, she is a bossy horse in the field, but I have to watch her waist line- oh and she has also had sand cracks and can get tight in her quarters and loves a good groom......
I imagine that this all also applied to half the horses on the forum, each to his/her own I suppose.

If anyone would like me to give a reading of their horses I can forward payment info.

Just seen this post, thank you... never thought to ask you about what she said prior to us owning him. He was a little pickle when we first got him wasn't he lol
