I'm very pleased with myself, I finally got Squirts saddle back (it got ruined by Flair being put in it and is now back to how it should be!) and I put it on him he remained reasonably chilled about it so I took him out for a little lunge and he still remained chilled, so I got on and rode him around and back to the yard and amazingly he still remained chilled. So I'm just so chuffed as I now feel we've maybe got passed all the horrors we've been through, I know it was a short ride but normally he gets very stressed about his saddle let alone me getting on.
He's had about seven months off as he had back problems following being rebacked after spinal surgery, his muscle suddenly grew and his saddle made him sore, when I was given the all clear to start work again he tried to remove a front leg on some wire stud fencing.
Additionally he's now living near the sheep which he acts as though they caused the injury, I'm sure they actually did it with their teeth and it wasn't the wire. Although he's still quite freaked by them he's getting better daily so maybe we can actually go forward in life and forget the crappy time we've had.
