Took baby horse out for a hack and hes pretty good in traffic now after his scare with a European forager harvester driver last yr, anyway today a very noisy hairdryer type motorbike was behind us so we pulled into a gateway and let him past, young lad was very thoughtful and tried not to make it too noisy, anyway within seconds a second one appeared very noisy and screachy, the baby just said this is enough and had a fidget, and got a bit silly, so lad switched off his bike and I rode horse back past him, we exchanged thankyous , the horse was a bit uptight now, which is really unusal for him as of late.
I round the corner and see a massive articulated lorry coming with about 3 foot gap eitherside, up ahead is very wide grass verge so I trot on and wait and hes coming fast, so I signal for him to slow down, he doesn't and carries on fast, so I signal again, by the time he nears us the horse has had enough and is freaking on the verge, can't get him past, spinning and generally being daft, lorry tried to push through and I said wait! ( bit panicky) he leaps out of his cab and screams we shouldn't be on the road with a skittish horse, I said he's not usually, he's a baby and something upset him, he rants away, I said you should know better being an animal feeds merchant, he said he didn't have time for this sort of rubbish... baby horse decided this shouting wasn't neccessarily and trotted on past driver and lorry!
Big grrrrrr to horse and driver !
