well apart from them being mega busy on a Monday ive got nothing but praise for my local NFU team.
they rang me back to sort out insurance for my new girl Aspen. Got talking about home insurance, only for them to tell them as were taking out home insurance with them, I can remove the personal liabilty off each insured horse and the tack option as it will be covered under the house insurance policy.

So with them removing these bits, im hoping that the difference wont be much more including the new girl and the increased value/LOU on my youngster compared to what it was before.

so very very happy with the NFU - and so much cheaper than what Petplan had quoted me Aspen.

I am very happy with them too and when I insured a little pony for 3rd Party they asked me if I was a BHS Gold member and as I was reminded me that I was covered that way plus knocked the 3rd Party element off my other horses policy to make it cheaper. They paid up promptly too when I claimed a few years ago!

thats great for you. youd expect an insurance company to be trying to get more money out of you but they are fantastic arent they. i certainly wouldnt insure with anyone else.

The Princess's current insurance runs out on 10 Nov so the NFU have sent me a new quote for the coming year (£6000 value). £489 including a £30 'loyalty discount' :-( I havent made any claims.

Last year it was only £430 without the 'loyalty discount' so its increased by £89 ! I dont have LOU.

Anyone else had similar.

Think I will talk them to discuss and see what can be reduced. We have Pony Club/Riding Club membership so may drop the personal liability to reduce it. Never thought about that before.

id give them a ring and discuss it. tbh because of how theyve dealt with my claims in the past i never check what they are charging me each year - i just check the policy. i know its bad of me, but theyve always been spot on and never had any problems - its been worth what ive paid. ill be checking it all when it comes through with the new details on and of course when it renews in Feb

Glad to hear you've had good service from NFU- I've just insured my new horse with them and they came highly recommended as cheaper than the company I have my other horses with- I was wondering what they were like!
