I have had lots of issues with my mare and finding a saddle for her. When I bought her the saddler who most people use at our yard fitted her with a Kent and Masters GP, this slipped dreadfully to the left and also tipped me forward (she is bum high with not a lot of wither). He took it back and sold me a K2 Albion but because of lockdown, the billion storms at the start of last year and the EHV virus it took me a while to realise it was also not right and get rid of it. Having ridden her in it for about 6 months it has left us both in pretty bad shape. She was having her withers pinched and the saddle being thrown to the left has made her sore. I am totally crooked and in quite a lot of pain (we are both having physio now to correct the damage). I was recently introduced to Nick Dolman saddles and purchased two second hand. The dressage one is perfect, fits her like a glove and puts me in a fab position. And does not slip to the left for love nor money. She is super comfortable and rides better than ever in it. The jump is not quite right for her, has french panels which trap her shoulders. She needs these changed to cut back bias panels to make the saddle right for her which Nick can do......BUT, I am not sure the saddle will ever be right for me so not that keen to spend the £350 getting it altered and then still be unhappy with it. I feel the seat is too wide for me, and I am perched rather than “in” it. Any recommendations for other brands to look at would be greatly appreciated.

I would look at wider horse brands, you may find that a flatter seat means a shorter footprint and you can get the saddle back off the shoulder. ND seats are generally very wide (especially compared to the twist, a very "8" shaped seat), though I believe one tree may have a narrower seat but I think it may be the curvier tree.

Wider horse saddles don't always have super wide seats.
