I am doing my bit for the forum :) *definitely not just spamming you all with stories of my crazy carriage horses* :D.

Skylla turned the big 5 this year (well actually only last week) so thinks she is VERY grown-up, knows all about this human carrier lark and has been trying her hand at flying changes as Topaz told her that's what grown-up horses do :rolleyes3:...

What do we think GP material right here, no?

What should have been happening was for her to chill out and lower that ridiculous carriage horse head carriage. As soon as the head comes down, her back relaxes and I can ride her from hind leg to contact. Not the textbook way I'll grant you, but Skylla ate her manual so we're winging it!

She is definitely an acquired taste to ride, as she is very reactive and light on her feet, but finding the mythical relaxed calm phase seems to be our unicorn at the moment. This outburst of flailing was brought about to you by new field grass and the horses coming to see her over the fence :rolleyes3:.

After lot's of enthusiastic, let's call it cantering :o, we did manage to calm down and do some stretching:

I didn't ask for more engagement as "sometimes that will do, is good enough" :) *not stolen from a facebook source I cannot remember at all *. The day before she had been awesome and I was thinking 65% at prelim was within sight :D, she can mull over her actions today and I'm sure by Thursday will have thought about something new try, maybe canter pirouettes :eek3: but I can bet it won't be slow calm acceptance of the aids because that's for losers right?

I love her! The canter in the vid is brill...She wants to be a showjumper!

 She is getting the hang of jumping so maybe! Though she is still refusing to be an eventer as she doesn't like mud .

She only has two canters currently, very fast, flat and limited use of all four legs to co-ordinate it, or that ^ bonkers I cannot make my stride length any longer and will bounce about in your face instead :rolleyes3:

she is elegance personified :D :D

you'll look back in a year or 2 with disbelief, I am quite sure ;)

 hmmm I suppose she has improved somewhat from last year..... well if you squint ;).

Hahaha first video is very "just let me do it, human!" I'm not sure what 'it' is exactly, but Bowser reacts much the same way when I tell him I don't want 'it' :D I get this a lot when things get difficult. He just goes bouncy!

Second vid, "fine fine, if i must... now tell me I'm pretty!" :D

 that is her all over, "I've no idea what I'm doing, but I certainly know better than you hooman ;)", wouldn't mind but I only asked for trot and canter large or on a 20m circle, not sure I'd class that as difficult . Give her some lateral work and she's away, too forward thinking by half this one!

Tired, don't forget 'now tired' for the second vid :D.

It's difficult when you want to do something else, even if you aren't sure what the something else is!

Lol, she's saying she's bored with Prelim! She wants to do all the fun stuff that Topaz gets to do! She's still gorgeous though :D

Teehee T-I-double guh-errrr
FYI, I think you're totally cramping her style - the woman got moves and she knows it

Hmm she can keep wanting :P and no she's a very naughty girl!

Hee, is it fun having those ears up your nose like that She's fun!!

Surprisingly no, ear up nostrils is itchy and unpleasant! You come ride the beansprout!

 defo cramping her style! Unfortunately she would probably end up on her face without me ;).

These 5yo's do like to challenge - I feel your pain on the ears in face, I managed to bite one the other day when madam was being particularly daft over a fence :eek3: gotta love them though... apparently...:rolleyes3:

I think she may have heard about the concept of 'freestyle' and taken it a bit literally ;)

She loves to freestyle , just need her to be ok with the human having some input about it all too .

:eek3: We've not got to that stage yet! People keep telling me the ones with character are the best, surprisingly no-one wants to get on the bouncing lunatic for me :rolleyes3: ;).

Tee hee, I have two 1/4 freisians so feel your ears-up-nose-stampy-foot-trot-let-me-go-faster-so-my-knees-touch-my-chin-pain :biggrin3:

Oh I didn't know there were more of us completely-mental *ahem* part-bred Friesian owners out there . If the knees don't touch the chin, are they really doing it right ;).

Nice mixture! What do the friesianX's do? I seem to keep buying the same type, must branch out a little for the next one maybe :D.

One does nothing at min as he's inherited his mums flabby gene and his leg falls off going down hill and due to no school and no lorry it's hard to give him the structured work he needs, the other mainly hacks but has done baby dressage and SJ and has a lot of potential (she's amazing when she goes well, I've shown her your reports and told her thats what she's aiming for as yours are 'relatives' :wink3:) but again due to lack of lorry/school pretty stuck this year :(

New lorry on order though and should arrive next spring :D

Oh gosh don't show them mine, mine are bonkers !!!

I bet next spring cannot come fast enough for you, are there no schools close enough to hack to until then?
